Agarwood is formed in trees from the Aquilaria and Gyrinops species. In simple terms, it is the tree’s attempt to “cure” or “mend” itself as a result of trauma. 

The parts of the tree with “agarwood” are uniquely fragrant and have been used as incense for millenia.

Agarwood (sometimes known as aloeswood or eaglewood) has been mentioned in the Holy Books and are used in religious and spiritual ceremony for their transportive scent.
