Khanh Hoa Ant King 86.5g Vietnamese Clay/Soil Agarwood Collector’s Grade
Class : Wild, Ant Wood, Clay/Soil, Collecto’s Grade
Jungle : Khanh Hoa Province, Vietnam
Dimensions :
Length : 200mm/20cm/7.87 inches
Width : 40mm/4cm/1.578 inches
Khanh Hoa Province is home to Nha Trang, famed for its sweetness and beloved in the Far East for centuries.
This particular piece was found in a long dead and decaying tree, felled by natural causes and partially buried in the clay/soil - opposed to having been harvested from a live tree.
Clay/Soil pieces like these are highly prized in the Asian market - oftentimes valued even more than Kynam due to their strong room temp aromas, distinctive scents and sheer rarity.
This particular type of formation was formed by an ant colony living within the tree. “Insect woods”, as they are known, are highly sought after in the East for their characteristic sweet and distinctive aromas- and Ant 🐜 Woods are favored for their unbelievably sweet scent.
As mentioned previously, these types of wood are often valued in the same manner as Kynam - as their scent is distinctive from having been buried in the Clay/Soil and saturated by the unique scent from this particular region. As these particular types of formations are even more scarce than Kynam - some collectors value these Clay formations as their most prized collection pieces.
Make no mistake - this is OLD Vietnam scent. Truly an ancient smelling scent from a superbly old tree and from time spent maturing in the aromatic clay of the Khanh Hoa mountains. This particular flavor profile is seldom ever seen in the market any longer.
As this came from a dead tree - dead woods tend to be more temperature sensitive due to their decay. Be sure to enjoy this on low heat.
This can be further cut for heating or carving, or simply enjoyed at room temp as the resting aroma is quite strong.
I’d suggest storing in a glass jar when not being enjoyed.
