Those that are familiar with my work know that I work in Chinese Medicine. I started my company while I was in med school, actually. Lots of interviews out there about me that you can read more on that if you're interested.
What you don't generally read about is my long practice of Yoga. I've been practicing for many years, and even went through a 3+ year training program while I was in med school. In addition to my own spiritual path - let's just say I see the world - and our place - in it through a variety of lenses.
I'm not some great yogi, mind you - but I find that both Chinese Medicine and Ayurveda, although two independent medical systems and and two separate medical practices - they do compliment one another in many regards.
"Anahata" may sound vaguely familiar to you, as it is the name of the Heart Chakra. In Chinese, this would be the Seat of the Shen - The Emperor , but also : The Seat of Ministerial Fire - The Fire of Thunder and Dragon - The Fire of Heaven and the Fire of Man.
There are VOLUMES of compendiums that you could read about this. Suffice it to say, if ever you'd like to do some reading ... you have several key words you can look up right there.

So what is ANAHATA ATEEK - and why is it 2023??
To be clear - this is NOT an SQ oil.
This is an Oud Rose I put together from some very, very special Ateek oils :
1987 Nagaland Ateek
This oil is dripping in vintage Hindi vapours and ancient forests. Hailing from the mountains near the Assam/Nagaland border town of Dhansiri - this oil is DARK. Of special note are the hints of smoke, varnished wood floors, antique woods, maybe a touch of florals and berries - and a gorgeous Vapourous drydown. I acquired the oil awhile back directly from the distillation family, and the oil was distilled from a single tree that was around 200 years old in a traditional wood-fired setup in a copper pot.
To this 46 year old Ateek Hindi, I paired it with what is probably the most unique Rose Oil I've ever smelled.
1960's Rose Ateek
The exact origin of this oil is unknown, but I suspect it is from Eastern Europe. It does not smell Turkish, nor does it smell Saudi. It has me leaning towards Azerbaijan or Moldova ... but the thick, syrupy scent of mature age has me not quite able to place where it's from, and the gentleman I got it from said there was only an age but not a location that he could provide.
Interestingly, this oil has a bit of a pedigree - as I was able to acquire this by way of the grandson of the man who taught the Ajmal family how to compound fragrances. This comes from the vaults of his late grandfather. I don't have much of it, and wanted to make the best and most unique use so as many can experience it as possible. Considering it is quite Vapourous on it's own, with a deep rose jam heart and citrusy nuances. I figured, what better way to honor this legendary Rose with roughly 6 Decades of maturing than in a truly glorious and unique Oud Rose oil?
Oud Oils in general connect with the Kidneys and Stomach.
Rose - connects deeply with the Heart ... hence the name of this oil.
Despite being such old oils - the Vapourous quality of them has Ateek Oud Rose feeling quite lively, and the vapourousness of them has them feeling a bit bottomless. Together, they feel greater than their individual parts. The Sum being greater than.
Even the color of the oil is nearly black. It doesn't feel old and dusty. It's feels primordial, for sure - but it's still got some perk to it. If you like old, Ateek oils - something that'll caress your Soul ... Anahata Ateek is an oil not to be missed!
