**To be clear - this is an oil from a tree, not of animal origin
Jungle : Borneo, Indonesia
Species : Aetoxylon
Distillation : Stainless, Hydro
For those "in the know", you're familiar with the darker side of the Agarwood industry and the litany of fake Ouds, adulturation, and substitution of non-Agarwood species being sold as Oud.
Enter Aetoxylon.
Aetoxylon is known as Crocodile Agarwood or Buoya. (A tree, mind you ... not an animal)
Aetoxylon is widely used as an adulturant to cheapen genuine Oud oils - but it's also used as an Oud note in the Gulf market. Most of it is poorly distilled, which led me to wanting to offer an exquisite artisan batch of Aetoxylon, and the only way to do that - was to produce a batch.
Enter 2018 Crok.
THE SCENT
If you like deep, woody notes, I think you're going to love this oil. Let's say that up front.
2018 Crok is reminiscent of an old log cabin in a deep, secluded forest. Very deep and resinous smelling.
I say this with confidence, because I actually live in a log cabin, in a forest.
Sometimes on really windy days, when the wind is strong enough to push air from the chimney of our wood fireplace into the main cabin - I get whiffs of creosote and fires of winter's past. Very reminiscent of 2018 Crok. Those strong winds make our cabin smell absolutely incredible!
Now imagine being able to wear that...because, now you can.
So if you like that old resinous wood smell with hints of smoke wafting through the trees ... of ancient trees with ancient resin coursing through their veins - be sure to check out 2018 Crok.
Fantastic as a standalone scent aside - If nothing else - I'm curious if this oil will train your nose to smell similar components used in commercial Arabic perfumery, as there's no doubt it's presence is wide spread in Gulf Perfumery.
I hope you love this exceptional specimen with 4+ years of aging on it as much as I do.
Enjoy !
**NOTE : We had actually produced this batch back in 2018 and had had it up in the shop for a bit before Etsy's AI decided it was somehow not allowed. So I'm remaking the listing with a new cover photo and specifying that this is indeed NOT made from the animal it is named after. This is an oil produced from tree wood. Just to make that loud and clear.
