I’ve been working to provide some opportunities for other artisans by using Rising Phoenix as a way of elevating some of the work they’ve been doing in a unique way. It’s more fun when I’m not hogging the spotlight.
Many of you may not know Bodhi, or at least not as a fragrance artist - but he’s quite well known to folks out there in the world of seed development. I, myself, don’t smoke - but Bodhi and I have had a long standing buddyship and shared passion for fragrance, and I admire the heck out of his work in crop development.
He sent me some samples awhile back, and one of them - Hive - I was just enamored with. As I’ve been working to develop this collaboration platform, I reached out to him and told him I had a proposition to which saying no was not an option.
Hive, as I had experienced it - was a spray.
I wanted the depth and richness of an Attar.
So I told him to put together the Concentrate, to which I’d pair with one of my Custom Mysore distillations to make a little “Collaboration Project”. Mostly him. A little me. All fun.

“landscape of desire #001: hive
one of my other passions is olfactory alchemy, the blending of exotic, rare, and sacred aromatics to create tapestries of memory, emotion, and desire.
this offering is called hive and is an all natural fragrance that mimics the fertile sweet love chamber of the bee goddess, and the sun warmed resinous trees and flowers of spring and summer. the base is rich in south African beeswax and nigella damascena flower absolute, its grounded and rounded by eucalyptus and cistus, and lightly blessed by tonka, vanilla, propolis, and ambergris. it is energized by kymia quintessence of honey, an alchemical preparation of honey. its a unisex fragrance but will appeal to the feminine nature, it can be sprayed on to the skin, clothing, and hair, and is particularly intoxicating on the bosom.”
