Oliang
Thai Roast - Pure Biodynamic Khao Yai Oud Oil

Jungle: Khao Yai, Biodynamic mixed-use organic farm
Distilled: 2022
Still: Stainless, custom-distilled

NEW 2022 BATCH!!

Oliang
(Thai: โอเลี้ยง,  pronounced [ʔōːlía̯ŋ]) from Teochew dialect 烏涼 or Pe̍h-ōe-jī: o͘-liâng Commonly known as Thai iced coffee
Made with strong coffee, Coriander, Cardamom, and Cinnamon

About the Oil:

We've been custom distilling some Fossilized Amber Resin for a client. There is a smoky, burnt character to an Oil of Fossilized Amber that just seethes testosterone. It's like charred meats and roasted foods - satiating in a way that a only a little destruction can satisfy.

The process of distilling Fossilized Amber is what's called a "destructive distillation" - it's an entirely different process than a hydro or steam distillation set up.

We've taken that concept and applied the theory to distilling this Oud. We wondered...what would an Oud prepped like a coffee bean smell like? What would charred Oud wood smell like?

Not co-distillation - simply a unique method of distillation that involves some charring of the wood. So yes, you might say there is an element of a high temp distillation, similar to roasting coffee.

The result - a very incensey Oud that smells like a cup of coffee in an incense-filled coffee shop in Marrakesh.

Scent Journey:

If you love the smell of coffee - I can all but guarantee you that you will LOVE Oliang Thai Roast.

In a nutshell...roasted coffee, Oud resin and wood. Hints of spice and sweet condensed milk.

It's like wearing the soul of a Moroccan Souk.
Loban-packed hashish pipes, coals loaded with Thai Crassna, strong cup of Thai coffee in hand. Hold the milk. Hold the sugar.

I like this Oud like I like my women - dark and strong, with a dash of spice.

No fruit. Nothing that even hints at Thai DNA.
Pure Thai Java to set your heart to racing and your hands to a tremble.

This is a cup of black gold you do not want to pass on.

Customer Impressions:

2019 Impressions:

"The Thai Roast does smell like thai roast....
like a bangkok cafe on a busy morning...
the oud adds a leathery humidity too it that is really unique...
when applied to the skin it sweetens up with a condensed milk touch...
i love the interplay of notes...
since im more of a tea guy and not a super big fan hindi style ouds it would not be one i would wear on the daily but as an experience i enjoy it quite a bit....

-Steven, USA

2016 Impressions:

"Thai Roast is peaking my interest, all that deep heart of fire, burning-no, charing-no, roasting resins and woods-yes.

I want to pour it on , sit at a cafe and order a shish pipe , then sneakily pack it with loban lol

This seams like the perfect starting point for an oud blend with other archaic oils."

-Stephen, Dublin

"How? Just...how???"

-Mark, Minneapolis

"More pick-me-up than Starbucks"

-Deborah, NYC

"It really does smell like Oliang!"

-Pank, BBK

"Brother, this is absolutely amazing! I had no idea Oud could smell so rich!"
