Country : India
Species : Vetiveria zizanioides /Chrysopogon zizanioides
Class : Wild, Traditional Copper Deg
A few years back I designed some products for an Indian company. Part of my compensation was a few dusty bottles of this insane batch of wild Khus that was traditionally distilled back in 2004.
I’ve had those bottles sitting on my shelf, and sadly have only just now thought it’s time to get them up in the shop.
Khus is not quite the same as Vetiver - although an awful lot of folks refer to Khus as Wild Indian Vetiver. Vetiver is generally the term for cultivated material - of which Haiti produces 80% of the global material. Indian Vetiver isn’t in much circulation outside of India - and true Wild Khus, even less so. Let alone Khus with a decade and a half of aging on it.
Phoenix Khus 2004 is a deep emerald green oil, so deep that it almost looks black unless the light hits it right. It’s a very clean, clear, thick aroma that deepens as it dries down. It’s phenomenal in hot and humid weather - and in India is used during the hot months as fragrance and flavor.
I’ve got some info on how to make use of it other than wearing it in the listing photos.
Just a drop is enough - and in formulation, a little goes a long way.
Grab some of this rare 15 year old traditionally distilled Wild Khus!
