ABOUT :

Almost all the Indian woods you see on the market are from farmed trees. Even the "wild" ones are usually not more than 10-20 years old.

Old-tree Woods like what I offer from India we don't see much any longer. It’s not that they don’t exist - it’s just that they are never available to the public, and are usually taken quite quickly by some Gulf company or another. The public never sees them, let alone has access to purchasing any.

Fortunately, over the last 6 or so years, my team and I have been building quite a few inroads with the locals in the region, and we are usually the first call locals make when opportunities arise. Covid also opened a lot of doors, as Arabs in Chinese stopped traveling to the region. With my own team on the ground, I don’t need to physically be there because I have my own local team who speaks the language and is there in person. Modern communications allow for quick, easy, and direct access. And so - many doors have open that would otherwise have been locked shut.

THE TREE :

We know this tree pre-dates 1921, and we harvested it in 2022. I’ve only just now gotten this first package from the harvest.

Many of the trees we get are old trees that we purchase from private properties. In this case, the town started growing in the early 1900s, and in 1921 a church was built that had some old growth wild trees on the property. This is why we know the tree predates 1921, and it was an adult at the time the property was developed. We did not get an accurate read on how old the tree was when we took it down, so suffice it to say that it is a pre-1921 Tree.

The cool thing here is that the tree became available because a local church that owned the property was needing to expand, and so I funded the expansion of the church in exchange for the tree.

Pretty much all of these old trees I have been taking down, have had to come down either because they are sick and dying, or they are threatening buildings around them, or they are taken down to fund some kind of construction, to fund an emergency surgery, or to help a family or community in some other way. So these trees are extra special, as they are doing a lot of good in the world in their coming down. In this particular case - this tree funded a major expansion of a local church.

One other thing worth mentioning ... churches and mosques and other religious buildings are usually built on special land. These trees that grow on these lands are also extra special, and are highly valued in VIP communities.

These offerings are extra special opportunities for you to try woods (and eventually the oils I produce from them) that very few ever get a chance to even hear about, let alone experience personally.

Enjoy !
